Administration Orders - What are they and can one help me?

If you find yourself in a position where you can't pay your creditors because you are experiencing debt problems, an administration order may be something that could help you clear debt.

To cover all your debts each month, an administration order allows you to pay a set amount to the courts which the court distributes.

You can request a composition order be imposed by the court if it is clear that you would be unable to fully repay your debts within a reasonable timescale (normally 3 years). This would allow you to pay less than the total you owe. The final decision however is for the court to make.

This debt help service is not free and the courts will charge you approx 10% of the amount you can afford to pay each month. The court will then distribute the funds to your creditors.

Administration Orders - How do I qualify for an administration order?

To qualify for an administration order you must fulfil the following requirements.

You must have two or more outstanding debts of which one must be a High Court or County Court judgment.

On the list of creditors, your total debts must not exceed £5000.
